Ms. Ott graduated from Utah State University in 1994, her engineering experience has been focused on seismic risk analysis and
retrofit design. During this time Julie has been responsible for seismic analysis and retrofit projects of over thirty buildings listed on the National Historic Register.
In addition Julie has had a vast array of experience working on seismic upgrades of buildings, design and renovation of: performing / fine arts centers, city halls, water treatment facilities, public safety buildings, courts, custom wood and log home, community centers, equestrian faculties, office buildings, primary and secondary education facilities. Also Julie has personally investigated to effects of extreme load on multiple building types after earthquakes. In addition to Ms. Ott's engineering responsibilities she is also the General Manger for ABS Consulting's Salt Lake City and Denver offices. Julie's office conducts work in Utah, the Intermountain area, and they also service several clients at there overseas facilities in the Asia, China, Japan, and Italy. Julie has been very active in the engineering community and
has served the Structural Engineers Association of Utah (SEAU) on the programs committee since 1995, structural licensing committee, 2-years on the board of directors, Vice-President, and severed as the 25th President of SEAU. In addition Julie spent two years on the Utah Engineers Council and is active in the National Association of Structural Engineers. On February 15, 2008, in the rotunda of the Utah State Capitol, Julie was named, by the Utah Engineers Council, the 2008 Utah Engineer of the year.
